Dear Luna Dance Community,
Our hearts go out to every one of you during this time. We know each person is impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in different ways.
In response, our staff is working collectively to provide creative dance activities for our students and community members to dance, collaborate, and support each other. As we utilize technology to stretch our creative muscles, we also work alongside arts organizations and alliances to advocate for financial relief for artists and nonprofits who are unable to hold programming.
In accordance with the Bay Area countywide shelter-in-place order, our studio and offices remain closed. All public programming is canceled and postponed until further notice. Luna staff and faculty are staying in communication and working remotely. We are all thinking of our community and how we can best support at this time.
Additionally, this page and our website will stay up-to-date with resources and offerings.
We wish you all the best, and we look forward to dancing together in the future!
The Professional Learning team is working on new ideas to bring dance educators together. Communications regarding upcoming virtual Practitioner Exchanges and advocacy efforts will be shared. Also, check out our Online Resources for Dance Educators during COVID-19 page.
Our Dance Equity & Inclusion Day is postponed. Stay tuned for updates about our late spring and summer programming.
Free phone consultations are still ON for April, May, and we’ve added an additional date in June. We’d love to connect with you!
And, we’re curious – how can we support you as dance educators right now? What questions do you have, and what kind of services are you longing for? Please take our super-short survey.
Studio Lab Dance teachers will be in touch with students and families to provide dance activities. We hope these explorations will get you out of the chair, moving, and stretching your creative skills!
School & Community Alliances
Our Luna school leads are connecting with Oakland Unified School District partners. We are sending fun dance breaks and resources to teachers and families who have students learning at home.
We will keep you posted about MPACT family dance classes scheduled in April and beyond.
