Summer Dance Camps Schedule 2017
Session 1: June 26 – 30, 9am-12pm
Session 2: TBA
Description: Half-day camps for children ages 5-7 provide opportunities for exploratory play through dance. Mini-campers dance with props, create obstacle courses, and make dance maps at these exciting, imagination-filled camps. Each week culminates with an informal presentation of student dances for families and friends. Children must have completed TK or kindergarten to participate.
Session 1: June 19 – 23, 9am-3:30pm
Session 2: July 17 -21, 9am-3:30pm
Description: Dancers will play with props and create costumes while they explore movement inspired by the week’s theme. Dancers will learn about and relate to choreographers who have been inspired by these topics, and create their own artist journals. Campers will choreograph their own performances and develop movement skills in a creative and collaborative context.
TEEN Choreography Workshops 11-16 year olds – limited to 14 students
Session 1: July 10 – 14, 10am-5pm
Session 2: July 24 -28, 10am-5pm
Description: Connect, collaborate, and practice the art of choreography. Learn about yourself, make friends, and have fun. Explore the Berkeley Marina, outdoor play spaces, indoor sets, and Bay-Area choreographers as inspiration for dance-making. The last day, dancers show a lengthy group work to families and friends. Camp is open to new and experienced learners of dance.

Dates: July 5 – 7, Times: 10am and 4:30pm $20/class or 3-class card/$55
Description: Luna’s relationship-based curriculum provides families with a safe, comfortable environment to play, dance, and bond together. Children and care-takers gain confidence and learn about themselves and one another through movement and play. Parents, grandparents, babysitters, and siblings of ALL AGES welcome.
